Dunki (transl. Donkey flight) is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film based on the eponymous illegal immigration technique. The film is directed and edited by Rajkumar Hirani and produced under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment and Jio Studios. It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal (billed as a special appearance), and Boman Irani.[3]
Principal photography began in April 2022 and wrapped a year later in April 2023. Filming took place in Mumbai, Jabalpur, Kashmir, Budapest, London, Jeddah and Neom. The soundtrack is composed by Pritam, while Aman Pant composed the background score. C. K. Muraleedharan, Manush Nandan and Amit Roy handled the cinematography of the film.
Dunki was released worldwide on 21 December 2023.[4][5]
Four friends in a small village of Laltu, Punjab dream to go to England. But neither do they have tickets nor any approved visas. Their lives change when a soldier arrives one day and promises to take them to their dreamland. Together, they set out on a perilous journey which tests their courage and ideologies.
